Being sponsored by an eligible family member is a great way to reunite permanently with loved ones. There are a few pathways which can provide this opportunity and applicants may qualify in any of the following scenarios:

  • Partner visa: in a de facto relationship, a formally registered relationship, or married to an eligible NZ citizen, Australian permanent resident or citizen:

    • Partner visa 820/801

    • Partner visa 309/100

  • FiancĂ© visa: engaged to an eligible NZ citizen, Australian permanent resident or Australian citizen:

    • Prospective Marriage visa 300

  • Parent visa: the parent of an eligible NZ citizen, Australian permanent resident or Australian citizen:

    • Contributory Parent visa 173 - temporary

    • Contributory Parent visa 143 - permanent

    • Non Contributory Parent visa 103 - permanent

    • Aged Parent visa 804 - permanent

    • Contributory Aged Parent visa 884 - temporary

    • Contributory Aged Parent visa 864 - permanent

  • NZ Family Relationship visa: in a de facto relationship with a NZ citizen

  • Child visa: the dependent child of an eligible NZ citizen, Australian permanent resident or Australian citizen

    • Child visa 101

    • Child visa 802

    • Dependent Child visa 445

  • Carer visa: the carer for your relative who has no reasonable access to care in Australia

    • Carer visa 836

    • Carer visa 116
