Student Costs to Increase
To meet the costs and expenses of studying and living in Australia, certain student visa applicants have been required to demonstrate they have sufficient funds, such as:
Funds with a financial institution
Government loan
Loan with a bank
Scholarship or financial support
Information has just come through that these costs are set to increase tomorrow, 24 October 2019. Here, we take a look at what they will look like for intended stays of 12 months or more (a pro rata amount will apply to any other duration of stay):
Primary Applicant: AUD21,041 for living costs and expenses
Partner Applicant: AUD7,362 for living costs and expenses
Per Child Applicant: AUD3,152 for living costs and expenses. In addition, AUD8,296 schooling costs will generally be applied.
Alternatively, financial capacity of the applicant’s parent or partner may also be used:
Single Applicant: AUD62,222 for a single applicant, or
Including a Secondary Applicant: AUD75,592
